Error Code |
What the Error Means |
F01 |
EEPROM Error
Basically, the main control is not communicating with itself or it's having a major malfunction... This is bad...
check that all the connections to the main control are fully connected.
Try to reset the Duet washer's memory by unplugging the washer for 2 minutes. If the washer is still having a problem you likely need a new main control board. |
F03 |
Duet Heater is Shorted to Ground
With a multimeter the heater should normally show a very weak connection to the washer's grounded cabinet. (2MΩ)
What you should not detect, is a strong connection to the cabinet...

F11 |
MCU (Duet Motor Control Unit) Error
The motor control board is having some problems... This is bad...
check that all the connections to the main control and motor control are fully connected.
Try to reset the Duet washer's memory by unplugging the washer for 2 minutes.
Do a Duet Washer Quick Test and check for motor function.
Check the Duet Washer Motor.
If the washer is still having a problem you likely need a new motor control board. |
F20 |
No Fill
The washer has been trying to fill with water but the pressure sensor has not detected any water in the washer tub after 30 seconds.
Check to make sure your home water valves are on and that water is getting to the washer.
The next most likely cause is that the washer's water valves are not opening for some reason.
(Check the valves with a Duet Quick Diagnostic Test) |
F21 |
Long Drain Error
This is the most common Duet washer error code! The F21 long drain error is referring to duration not length. If it takes longer than 8 minutes to drain your highly water efficient washer then ether the drain system is pugged up with who knows what or the drain pump is having a problem. The best way I have found to deal with the water when your washer's drain pump isn't working is to use a shop vac and pull from the drain hose. If that works the your pump is highly suspect. If it doesn't work then you almost certainly have a clog in your Duet washer's drain system and the pump may be fine.

F22 |
Door Lock Error
Your Duet washer was not able to lock the door after 6 times… You can't say it didn't try. Check that the tab on the washer's door that inserts into the door lock is not broken, that it's properly aligned with the door lock hole, and that there is nothing that may be jamming the lock. (Duet Washer Door Lock Check) |
F23 |
Heater Error
If the Duet washer is unable to get the water temperature above 86ºF in the first 40 minutes it stands to reason that the washer's heater isn't working.
Check that the heaters wire connections are okay.
Check the heater for resistance... It should not be open. |
F24 |
Temperature Sensor Error
Check that all the wire connections from the main control to the temperature sensor are well connected. (The Duet washer temp sensor is located at the back of the tub need the bottom, next to the heater.)
Check the Temperature Sensor |
F25 |
Motor Tachometer Error
Check all the wire connections from the washer's main control to the motor and tachometer at the control's MS2.1 and MS2.1 connections.
The Duet motor tachometer which detects motor speed, should read approximately 115Ω when checked with a multimeter
How to Use a Multimeter
If it is actually bad then you will need to replace the washer's motor. |
F26 |
Door Switch Error
Possible causes…
1. Your Duet washer has a bad door switch.
2. You have not opened to door for 3 wash cycles…
3. Trying to start a cycle when the washer door is open. (Duet Washer Door Switch Check) |
F27 |
Overflow Error
1. check that the washer's water valves are closing all the way and water is not filling into the tub when it shouldn't be. If water is slowly filling the tub even when the washer is unplugged you need to replace the washer fill valves. If it's filling quickly and it suddenly stops when you unplug the washer you may have a bad main control board.
2. Check that the drain pump is working properly.
3. Check the pressure sensor. |
F28 |
Serial Communication Error
This error means that the main control and the motor control are not able to communicate.
Try unplugging the washer for 2 minutes to reset the washer's memory.
Check that all the wire connections between the two control boards are fully connected.
If everything looks good on the connection end then how lucky do you feel?! The problem could be in ether the main control or the motor control boards
This problem is usually a good one to have a professional repair person diagnose, because both possible boards are very expensive and you don't really want to guess wrong...

F29 |
Door Unlock Error
A Door Unlock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked. It will try to unlock the door 6 times before displaying this error.
Potential Causes
• Door lock is broken.
• Check door lock switch for foreign objects
• Check wire harness connections to the door lock switch and the main control board at the DLS, DL, and DCS connections.
|
F30 |
Dispenser Error
The detergent dispenser was not able to reach it's destination.
The
dispenser tray in your Duet washer has a small motor on top that moves a guide to direct water into the proper cup. Remove the washer to and do a Duet Washer Quick Diagnostic Test step C02 should move the dispenser linkage so you can see what's the hang-up. |
F31 |
Motor Control Unit Error
The Duet washer uses a second control board to control the direction and speed on the washer motor.
This error is saying that the motor control board has gotten too hot and may need to be replaced.
Try unplugging the washer for 2 minutes and see if it will do a Duet Washer Quick Diagnostic Cycle |
F32 |
Pressure Switch Error
The Duet washer uses a pressure sensing switch to detect the water level in the wash tub. The sensor uses a small tube that is attached to the outer tub. The pressure switch is very rare to fail so the first thing to check is that the hose is not pinched closed and doesn't have any holes in it. |
F42 |
Low Voltage to MCU Error
This Duet error is saying that the voltage to the washer's motor control unit is too low.
Check that there is proper voltage at the home's electrical socket (apx. 120VAC)
Next check all connections from the main control to the MCU. |
F70 |
Main Control Heartbeat Failure Error
The Duet washer's main control board is unable to connect to the washers user interface. (the control buttons)
Check all the connections between the User interface and the washer's main control board.
Hard to narrow this one down. If all the buttons seem to be working then you likely have a main control board problem.
If not flip a coin... |
F71 |
User Interface Heartbeat Failure Error
The Duet washer's main control board is unable to connect to the washers user interface. (the control buttons)
Check all the connections between the User interface and the washer's main control board.
Hard to narrow this one down. If all the buttons seem to be working then you likely have a main control board problem.
If not flip a coin... |
SUD |
Suds Error
The washer is having a difficult time draining. normally this is due to too much soap or non HE detergent being used.
The washer's drain pump cannot pump soap suds, it needs to be in liquid form. So try to run a Spin/Drain cycle to clear out the soap.
If there does not seem to be suds, check all the connections to the pressure switch and drain pump.
If all that looks good check the drain system for blockages or you may have a bad drain pump. |
rL |
Load Detected W/Clean Cycle Error
A load of clothes was detected during a Clean Washer cycle.
unload the washer and do a Duet Diagnostics Cycle to see if the rest of the washer is working properly. |
